School safety is a big issue nowadays, especially with all of the school shootings happening in just this year. Over two dozen school shootings have occured by April of 2018.

Two teenagers are facing charges (over a year of expulsion) after administrators have found two handguns  in a locker Friday, April 20, 2018, at West Ashley Middle School. At around 1:00 p.m. administrators received news that there were firearms on the campus, according to Charleston Police Department spokesperson Charles Francis. The school went on code yellow, a lock down to where student’s can’t leave their classroom until the school goes off of code yellow.  A book bag containing the two guns was found in the locker, one was loaded. The 14-year-old boys are charged with possession of a firearm on school campus, according to the Charleston Police Department. One kid admitted to bringing the guns from home.

This is an ongoing investigation, but no further information was available Friday. How many more school shootings do we need before we start talking about this as a real problem and not just some random incidents?
